bible-201Taken from the Westminster Confession of Faith written in 1646 pgs 25 -

There is but one only, living, and true God: who is infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, without body parts, or passions, immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, most wise, most holy, most free, most absolute, working all things according to the counsel of His own immutable and most righteous will, for His own glory; most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin, the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him, and withal, most just and terrible in his judgments, hating all sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty.

God hath all life, glory, goodness, blessedness, in and of Himself; and is alone in and unto Himself all sufficient, not standing in need of any creatures which He hath made, nor deriving any glory from them, but only manifesting His own glory in, by, unto, and upon them: He is the alone fountain of all being, of whom, through whom, and to whom are all things; and hath most sovereign dominion over them, to do by them, for them, or upon them whatsoever Himself pleaseth. In His sight all things are open and manifest; His knowledge is infinite, infallible, and independent upon the creature, so as nothing is to Him contingent, or uncertain. He is most holy in all His counsels, in all His works, and in all His commands. To Him is due from angels and men, and every other creature, whatsoever worship, service, or obedience He is pleased to require of them.

In the unity of the Godhead there be three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. The Father is of none, neither begotten, nor proceeding: the Son is eternally begotten of the Father: the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.

Psalms 90:2 “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God”
1 Timothy 1:17 “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen?”
Psalms 145:3 “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable”
Revelations 4:8 “And the four beasts …..rested not day and night, saying, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is , and is to come.”
Psalm 115:3 “But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased.”
Proverbs 16:4 “The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.”
John 5:26 “for as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself.
Acts 17:24-25 “God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; V. 25. Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though He needed any thing, seeing He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.
Romans 11:33-34 “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! V. 34. For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been His counselor?
Psalms 147:5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding infinite

Does God need our help in anything which He has created or ordained to come to pass? I was raised in a church that taught me that God was my Father, Saviour and that He is Holy. I have learned over the years that He is all Powerful, Mighty in strength and that the righteous run to Him in good times and times of need. That He is my Lord and Master and that He guides and directs my path. That He has ordained the end from the beginning and no one can stay His hand or say -Why doest thou? I know He loves His children to the point of His own death to save them. What love! I know that He hates sin and will show His wrath upon those who are not His. I know that He is coming again to take His own dear children home to be with Him forever. (The ones the Father gave Him) and I know that He is sovereign of which I am so glad!
