Who Is God? Part 2

bible-181Jesus tells the world who He is: John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.” The Bible tells us that Jesus is God and that it is He who gave Himself for His own. Titus 2:13-14, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”

In John 8:58, Jesus Himself says, “Verily, Verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am”

Verily, Verily means Amen, Amen, which means – And so be it, and so be it. In other words, it is settled and it will be. I am – is telling us that Jesus is God and always was, He had no beginning, but always was, and is Jesus, and He will always be, and that He has no end.

In Revelations 1:8 Jesus tells us who He is, “I am Alpha and Omega the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
Jesus tells us that He is The Almighty – and here in Revelations Jesus is plainly telling us that He is God Almighty of the Old Testament.

My hope is that all of you, who visit this blog, will come to know and grow in God our Lord and Saviour, and to Him give all glory, honor and love.

Who Is God? Part 1

bible-19To God be the glory in all that we learn of Him.

Who is God? There is One God as we have learned in our last Searching for Truth “What is God,” we also saw that there is only one true God, yet three persons which make up the Godhead. All of one substance, equal in power, and glory, (eternity). In the Godhead, there is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. That the Father is of none, neither begotten, nor proceeding: the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Ghost is eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son. We know that God is Spirit, with no body parts and this part of God is the Father, he is the thought part of God. Jesus Christ is known as God the Son and He is the Logos (Word) of God, this part of God was made flesh and dwelt among humankind. The Holy Spirit is the Third person in the Godhead, He draws (drags), teaches and is a comforter for all believers.

John 1:1-14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (also see Psalm 100:3) – The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not….That was the true Light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made my Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Notice, Jesus is the Word of God, not a god as other false religions would like you to believe. Jesus is God and you must receive Him as so!!
